What is SAN

Full name of the material = Styrene Acrylonitrile.
SAN bottles and jars are mostly Luxury thick-walled products.
SAN bottles and jars are a good "unbreakable" alternative to glass.
SAN / AS is a copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile.
It is a hard, strong high quality plastic material and is very heat resistant.
SAN is (together with ABS) one of the safe plastics that fall under recycle code 7.
SAN is also used as a safe alternative to harmful polystyrene (recycle code 6).
ASA is somewhat more rubbery due to added acrylate.
Sit in: Household appliances, all kinds of trays and cups, cosmetics packaging and computers. Brita jugs are (partly) made of SAN, the jug and the inside can be of SAN, the cover of ABS with ASA, the feet under the jug of TPU and the filter is made of PP.
